Looking to get drunk, but afraid of all the chemicals that might make it into your Margarita? Maybe you should think about getting yourself some organic booze - sometimes it's a little more expensive, but you can drink all you want without your typical fear of drinking a chemical cocktail.
In one of the more extraordinary product marketing schemes, TRU Organic Vodka is promising to plant a tree for every bottle of vodka you down. If you’re going to have a drink or five, why not help plant a tree too? The company takes their eco-friendly endeavor to every aspect of their business; their bottles use 25% less glass than regular vodka bottles, labels are printed on corn fiber using soy-based ink and all closures are synthetic and recyclable. The company says the boxes also fold in a way that eliminates packing tape.
Their organic movement has taken one step further with a new line of artisanal liqueurs, a collection of 100% organic liqueurs designed to facilitate making all-organic cocktails at home and in bars. The collection - which includes Citry (orange), Crism (hibiscus) and Theia (jasmine) - complements the growing number of organic vodkas, rums, gins and tequilas on the market.
These mouth-watering organic spirits from TRU are now available for $29 per 750ml bottle and it is well worth it—the flavors are so unique and yummy and for every bottle sold, a percentage of sales gets donated to The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation.
“With Fruit Lab, we set out to bring the garden to the glass with whole, organic ingredients and complete hand processing for uncompromising quality,” says Melkon Khosrovian, co-founder of Modern Spirits.
The environmentally conscious company lists its green guidelines a follows:
- Maintaining clean farmland and groundwater. By using organic, ingredients don't contain synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, or genetically modified organisms.
- Reducing waste and pollution through its exclusive use of lightweight bottles, recycled and recyclable materials and dual-use packaging (shipping boxes convert into shelf displays for the product).
- Reversing environmental degradation by planting trees in the tropical zones of Central America and providing much needed support and training to local farmers.
- Efforts are evaluated by independent organizations...so you know
